‘MAS MAY LABAN TAYO KUNG TAYO AY BAKUNADO’ – GOV. POGI ESPINO

MULI ko pong bibigyang diin ang kahalagahan ng bakuna sa labang ito. Mas may labanpo tayo kung tayo ay bakunado.

​This was the core message of Governor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III that was uploaded last October 26 on the official Facebook page Province of Pangasinan.

​Governor Espino emphasized that the Provincial Government aims to vaccinate the 70% of the eligible population in Pangasinan to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19 by the end of the year. Thus, intensified vaccination roll-out in the province will be implemented starting November.

​“Layon po natin na sa pagtatapos ng taong ito ay mabakunahan natin ang 70% ng eligible population kung saan 50% dito ay fully vaccinated. Ito po ang tinatawag ng mga eksperto na herd immunity,” said Governor Espino.

​The provincial chief executive also thanked the national government through the Department of Health for their unwavering support in the vaccination roll-out program of the province.

​“Nagpapasalamat din po tayo sa ating national government sa kanilang walanghumpay na pagsuporta sa atin sa labang ito, lalo na sa pamamahagi ng mga bakuna.” Gov. Espino stated.

​As of October 25, more than 969,000 Pangasinenses or 49% of the total eligible population have been vaccinated. Out of this figure, 22% received their full vaccination while the 27% got their first dose.

​Governor Espino reiterated his call for the participation of Pangasinenses in the vaccination roll-out in Pangasinan which contributed to the decrease in COVID-19 cases and stabilized the situation in the province.

​“Inaasahan po naming muli ang inyong aktibong partisipasyon at pakiki-isa samalawakang vaccination rollout nitong natitirang dalawang buwan ng taong ito,” said Governor Espino.

​In his message, Governor Espino mentioned that on October 23, Pangasinan recorded only 81 new COVID cases compared to the all-time high figure of 878 on September 13. Furthermore, only 1,148 total active cases were recorded in Pangasinan as of October 23 from its peak of 4,844 cases on September 12.

​“Dahil sa pagbaba ng ating COVID cases, hihilingin natin sa national IATF naibaba muli sa Modified General Community Quarantine o MGCQ ang ating quarantine classification simula ngayong darating na Nobyembre,” said Gov. Espino.

​The governor also commended the officials and employees of the Provincial Government and local government units, health workers, uniformed personnel, frontliners, and every Pangasinan for their unity and sacrifice amidst the pandemic.

​Governor Espino said, “Mula sa ating mga opisyales at mga kawani sa atingprobinsya, sa ating mga bayan, siyudad at barangay; sa ating mga health workers, uniformed personnel, at lahat ng frontliners; at sa inyo pong lahat, aming mgakabaleyan & kailiyan – naging posible po ito dahil sa ating disiplina, sakripisyo at pagkakaisa.

​The provincial chief executive assured that through discipline, sacrifice, unity, and love for family, Pangasinenses can prevail in this pandemic.

​ “Sa pamamagitan ng ating disiplina at pagkakaisa, pag iingat sa ating sarili at pagmamahal sa ating pamilya, higit sa lahat patuloy na pagdarasal sa ating PoongMaykapal, mga kabaleyan, kailiyan, malalagpasan din natin ito,” said Governor Espino.

​Earlier, Governor Espino wrote a letter of appeal to the National Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) dated October 22 requesting to place the Province of Pangasinan under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) starting November 1, 2021.

​In the letter, the provincial chief executive mentioned that the COVID-19 infection rate in Pangasinan has relatively subsided from the average of almost 400 cases per day in August and September to 128 daily average from October 15-21.

​Similarly, the Provincial Task Force on COVID-19 passed a resolution urging the IATF-EID to “place the Province of Pangasinan under Modified Community Quarantine from November 1, 2021 onwards.” /Paula Jhea Sis
