LGU-P’sinan distributes more than 12,000 educational tablets to 5 school divisions

A total of 12,132 educational tablets amounting to P119,451,672.00 were distributed by the Provincial Government of Pangasinan led by Governor Amado I. Espino III, to the five school divisions of the province.

Awarded in three batches, the first distribution was held in April this year with 4,004 units given to the five School Division Superintendents (SDS). The next awarding was conducted on August 24 followed by another on August 25 with the following number of tablets given: Pangasinan 1- 3,464; Pangasinan II- 3,464; Alaminos City- 400; San Carlos City- 400; Urdaneta City- 400. Pangasinan 1 covers Districts 1, 2 and 3 while Pangasinan II covers the congressional districts of 4, 5 and 6.

In his message during the turnover rites at the DepEd Division I office on August 24, Gov. Espino urged the academe to serve as the voice of the provincial government to institute proper discipline among Pangasinenses particularly the youth sector especially during this time of COVID-19 pandemic when face-to-face classes are not allowed. “Mag-two years ng walang face-to-face classes kaya sana magabayan ng husto ang mga kabataan,” he said.

Disclosing that provision of quality education is among the priorities of his administration, the governor said that the provision of educational tablets will assist the teachers and the learners in providing effective teaching and learning process during this time of pandemic.

Furthermore, the governor disclosed that instructional modules worth P50 Million will soon be distributed to various school divisions. “Hopefully sa first week ng September makarating na ang worth P50 million na modules na ipamimigay natin,” Gov. Espino stated.

The five school division superintendents (SDS) who received the educational tablets were as follows: SDS Ely S. Ubando (Pangasinan 1), SDS Danilo Sison (Pangasinan II), SDS Lorna G. Bugayong (Alaminos City), SDS Lourdes D. Servito represented by Dr. Jesusa Macam (San Carlos City), and SDS Fatima R. Boado (Urdaneta City).

Gracing the two-day distribution activities in separate venues were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Nestor D. Reyes, Margilou Orange D. Humilde Verzosa, Dr. Shiela Ferrer-Baniqued., Rosary Gracia P. Perez-Tababa, Nicholi Jan Louie Sison, and former Board Member Clemente B. Arbolleda, Jr.  (Ruby R. Bernardino)
