Dr. De Venecia confirmed as Dagupan health officer
THE Dagupan Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has confirmed the extension of the appointment of Dr. Maria Julita P. de Venecia as City Health Officer.
This was contained in a resolution sponsored jointly by Councilors Michael Fernandez and Jalice Cayabyab, also a doctor of medicine, and passed during the August 28 SP session.
De Venecia, wife of former Councilor Alex de Venecia, is not only a doctor of medicine but also a pharmacist and a registered nurse.
She rose from the ranks in the city health office, starting as a technical consultant for two years, then 18 years as a permanent employee, from Medical Officer I to III.
She has expressed full support to all the health programs of Mayor Belen Fernandez, such as Maaron Ina, Home Visit, Ka Tropa, program for Solo Parents, and Child Health Advocate, among others. (Leonardo Micua)
