TWO siblings from Dagupan were honored by the city government for their exceptional achievements in the Horizon Olympiad Global Round, an academic competition, held in New York, USA., from  July 21 to 26, 2025.

Purple Faith Aquino and her younger brother, Citrine Neo Aquino, both students of Mother Goose Special High School, were given recognition in a resolution authored by Councilor Christen Hilary Paras.

The siblings are children of Winnie Bautista-Aquino of Dagupan City, who said the competition, which covered math and science among other subjects, offered scholarship opportunities at the University of Brooklyn.

Purple Faith was the Top 1 Ultimate Winner and a gold medalist in her category, while Citrine Neo earned a gold medal in his category.

“These brilliant siblings demonstrated not only exceptional mathematical talent but also courage, resilience, and pioneering spirit,” reads the resolution passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod on August 18. (Leonardo Micua)
