San Fabian’s Bandarlipe is interim PCL president
RE-ELECTED Councilor Kimberly Bandarlipe of San Fabian will serve as interim president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Pangasinan Provincial Federation as authorized by the PCL National Office.
The PCL National Board approved the appointment during its meeting held on June 4, with the resolution authorizing Bandarlipe to represent the league as an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), pending the election and proclamation of a new set of federation officers.
The authority was formally signed by PCL National President Handy Lao and National Chairman Raul Corro.
“I am deeply honored by this opportunity to serve my fellow councilors across the province of Pangasinan. It is both a great privilege and responsibility to be the voice of our local legislators,” said Bandarlipe, a former reporter of GMA’s Balitang Amianan, in a Facebook post.
The election of PCL Pangasinan Chapter is expected to be held in September.
On June 23, PCL Pangasinan Chapter President Carol Dizon-Sison bid farewell to her colleagues in the provincial board following the end of her term as councilor.
Vice Governor Mark Lambino, presiding officer of the SP, said Bandarlipe is expected to attend the first regular session of the new set of provincial board members in July.
He added that the oath-taking ceremony for the elected and re-elected members of the SP will take place on June 30 at the session hall of the Capitol Building in Lingayen.
Meanwhile, aside from Dizon, three other outgoing board members — Noel Bince, Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa, and Salvador Perez Jr., were honored during the final regular session of the 11th SP for their contributions and service. (Eva Visperas)
