PROV’l BOARD COMMENDS STA.BARBARA STUDE

A Pangasinense topped  the recently concluded 2025 Architect Licensure Examination, besting 1,352 other passers out of 2,705 examinees.

King Nixon Mabanta, a 27-year-old resident of Sta. Barbara, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree graduate from Pangasinan State University-Urdaneta in 2019, placed first with an 88.10% rating.

In 2023, he ranked second in the Master Plumber Examination.

In an interview, Mabanta shared that his parents and grandfather, a carpenter by profession, are his biggest inspirations.

He fondly recalled his childhood days when he would join his grandfather in carpentry work, which fueled his passion for design and construction.

He also credited his hands-on experiences in the field as a significant factor that contributed to his success in the licensure examination.

For his achievement, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed a resolution in its June 23 session commending Mabanta .

In the resolution, the provincial board recognized not only his academic excellence in architecture but also highlighted his earlier achievement in the Master Plumber Licensure Examination, and his dedication to professional excellence, architectural integrity, and sustainable community development.

Filed by Fifth District Board Member Nicholi Jan Louie Sison and co-authored by Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Apolonia Bacay, Shiela Marie Baniqued, and Vici Ventanilla, the resolution was also intended to inspire other Pangasinenses, especially the youth of Sta. Barbara. (Ahikam Pasion/Eva Visperas)
