4 more Dagupan scholars turn professionals
MORE scholars of the Dagupan City government joined the ranks of professionals after hurdling licensure examinations shortly after finishing their studies.
These include three new nurses who passed the 2025 nursing licensure examination, and another who passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) this year.
They are Frances Tarla Mue Castillo and Jessica Esteves, both of Barangay Tapuac, and Winona Marie Santos of Barangay Tebeng, who all graduated in Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Luzon.
The three recently made a courtesy call on Mayor Belen Fernandez to thank her and the city government for giving them the opportunity to study in college as scholars.
Last week, Joana Marie de la Cruz, accompanied by her mother, was honored by the city after passing the nursing exam.
The new registered nurses have been offered jobs at the satellite City Health Office in Bonuan Gueset, at the Sitio Korea (Binloc) Health Center, or the Diagnostic Center of the City Health Office.
A separate courtesy call on the mayor was made by Sophia Castro of Barangay II and III, who just passed the LET on the first take.
Castro will be recommended by the city to be employed at the City Schools Division in Dagupan.
Fernandez said as the new academic year is about to start, the city is prepared to take in additional scholars from the rank of poor families.
There are currently 5,000 slots annually for scholars under the city’s program, and an additional 1,000 will be proposed for approval by the incoming Sangguniang Panlungsod. (Leonardo Micua)
