THE Manaoag local government earned first place in the Gawad Serbisyong Mapagkalinga award at the regional level for its outstanding social welfare initiatives, particularly the “Bahay at Hanapbuhay Para Solo Parents na Nanay at Tatay,” which focuses on empowering solo parents through livelihood and holistic support.

Sponsored by the regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the award is based on the results of the Service Delivery Capacity Assessment, a tool that provides performance indicators along with administration and organization, program management, and institutional mechanisms.

Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario congratulated Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Lynne Abar for making the award possible.

Manaoag was also recognized as a Knowledge Contributor for effectively documenting and sharing its best practices in governance, providing a model for other local government units aiming to replicate successful programs in their areas.

Rosario said the recognition underscores Manaoag’s dedication to inclusive governance and its role in uplifting the lives of vulnerable sectors, setting a benchmark for social welfare initiatives in the region. (Trisha Visperas/Intern)
