ONE of the oldest living Pangasinense and World War II veteran marked his 108th birthday quietly in his home in Barangay Doyong, Calasiao last November 3.

Born in 1916, Vicente Untalan was a member of the Philippine Scout during the war and survived the Bataan Death March. He also served in the U.S. Army for over three decades.

Despite his advanced age, Untalan’s eyesight remains sharp, and he attributes his longevity to a balanced diet and regular exercise.

Untalan’s family showered him with love and care, grateful for his legacy of bravery and patriotism.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) honored Untalan’s remarkable life, wishing him continued happiness and good health. (Shara Joy Cornel/Intern)
