Bayambang holds Anlong, Cancionan tilts for Tourism Month
THE local government of Bayambang celebrated Tourism Month with the holding of Anlong (Poem Writing) and Cancionan (Song Writing) Competition last October 7 at the Balon Bayambang Events Center.
In Cancionan, the JL Group was hailed as champion with their winning piece “Gala Dya”, followed by “Bisig ng Pagmamahal” of Efren Median as first runner-up, while the “BYB” jingle of Andrew Casipit landed second runner-up.
Meanwhile, “Mga Yapak ng Gunita ng Pag-Ibig” by Billy Joe Sibayan was the grand winner in the Anlong Filipino category, Rodrigo Reducto’s “As Bayambang Breathes” took the first place in English, while Melita Ocomen’s “Tatak Bayambang” was the winner in Pangasinan category.
Organized by the Municipal Tourism Office of Bayambang, the events were held to showcase the talents and highlight the culture of the town.
“The two contests demonstrated that Bayambangueños talents are truly exceptional and served to promote Bayambang arts and culture,” Bayambang Mayor Niña-Quiambao said. (Kim Gealogo)
