A student from Calasiao received the Highest Academic Excellence Award from the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) – Ilocos Region Campus as the academic year ended.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan lauded in a resolution passed on Monday the feat of Decier Oliver R. Mapile who graduated with flying colors from the PSHS. Mapile is from Barangay Nalsian, Calasiao.

With an unparalleled achievement, he clinched the highest grade point average of 1.053, a milestone witnessed only twice in the illustrious two-decade history of PSHS.

Mapile also received the Excellence Awards in Biology, Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, and English, complemented by a Special Award in Leadership and earned the prestigious Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute Scholarship program.

“The Sangguniang Panlalawigan extended “its warmest congratulations for his exemplary achievement. His astounding accomplishments, coupled with determination and perseverance, truly stand as a beacon of aspiration for the youth of Pangasinan,” the resolution said. (Eva Visperas)
