Police, civilian couples exchange “I do’s” in mass wedding
P/BRIG. Gen. Lou Evangelista, director of the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) celebrated his 54th birthday celebration with a more meaningful life-changing event involving his fellow policemen and civilians.
On May 28 at the Our Lady of Purification Parish in Binmaley, Evangelista’s hometown, he sponsored a mass wedding for 53 couples, including members of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office and civilian couples.
Evangelista’s initiative reflected his commitment to foster strong family values within the community as embodied in his seven-point agenda, S.E.C.U.R.E.D in “Ang Probinsya Ko, ang Pamilya Ko, at ang Puso Ko.
The mass wedding enabled couples to embark on their married lives together, underlining the importance of community and family.
In congratulating the couples, he emphasized the sanctity of marriage and the responsibilities that accompany it, encouraging them to uphold the vows they made and to support each other through life’s journey.
“Ang pagpapakasal ng dalawang nagmamahalan ay malaking bagay upang maging S.E.C.U.R.E.D ang kanilang pagsasama hindi lamang sa kanilang mag-asawa kundi pati narin ang kanilang mga anak na bumubuo ng isang maayos at secured na pamilya tungo sa isang mas mabuting katayuan ng isang mas matatag, maunlad, ligtas at secured na probinsya ng Pangasinan,” Evangelista said.
The wedding reception was held at the Sison Auditorium in Lingayen attended by Atty. Ronn Dale Castillo (representing Gov. Ramon Guico II)I, Vice Gov. Mark Lambino, Binmaley Mayor Pedro Merrera III, Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez, Lingayen Vice Mayor Mac Malicdem (representing Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil), and Los Baños Vice Mayor Josephine “Baby” Sumangil-Evangelista as principal sponsors.
