THE 2^nd Kanen Festival in Urbiztondo that demonstrated the expertise of the farmers in cultivating rice and other local products that were displayed during the event was hailed by Senator Imee Marcos who arrived as the town’s special guest last April 28.

Urbiztondo Mayor Modesto Operania also paid tribute to farmers and residents who immensely contributed to the town’s progress. “Let me emphasize that the positive gains we achieved are not the result of one person, but they are fruits of the collective efforts of the townspeople,” he said.

The town installed a 185-meter-long table in the middle of the road in front of the municipal hall filled with 32,860 pieces of rice delicacies.

Among the “kakanin” presented were: biko, pininat sapin-sapin, latik, bitso-bitso, suman, palitaw and turon. (Kim Gealogo)
