THE Church of God conducted its clean-up on the Tondaligan Blue Beach in Dagupan City that was participated in by 150 residents from Baguio, Tarlac and Mariveles, Bataan.

On April 14, the Church of God (World Mission Society), Pastor Kim Joo-cheol led 150 volunteers, elderly and middle and high school students wearing green vests, along with local government officials, to the Tondaligan.

The cleanup activity, which lasted for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, resulted in the collection of 55 bags of trash (all forms of wastes including Styrofoam, fishing gear, detergent containers, old clothing, plastic cups, snack wrappers, etc.).

A local government official who was present at the scene thanked the Church of God for the assistance to cope with the collection of large amount of discarded trash during holidays.

For over a decade, the Church of God has been conducting environmental protection activities in various provinces in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, particularly, as activities of the youth. This year, environmental cleanup and tree planting were done in Metro Manila, Batangas, Cebu, Rizal, Laguna, Isabela, and Bulacan.

The “ABC (ASEZ Blue Carbon) Movement,” held at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA) in February, focused on environmental cleanup and panel exhibitions to enhance public awareness of marine ecosystems, garnered attention from various sectors.

The Church of God has also been organizing blood donation drives across the region, including Pangasinan, to raise awareness of the importance of life and voluntary blood donation, orphanage visits, mural paintings, donation to flood victims, relief efforts for volcano eruption evacuees, COVID-19 prevention support, and more. Last month, they provided groceries to 100 families affected by the fire in San Isidro, Parañaque, delivering hope and encouragement.

With 3.7 million members in 175 countries worldwide, the Church of God celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, with a hopeful future for humanity by practicing the teaching of the Bible “love your neighbor as yourself. ”  (Contributed)
