Urdaneta Diocese celebrates Christ the King in Pozorrubio
THE Diocese of Urdaneta, a diocese supervising 26 parishes, celebrated the Feast of Christ the King in Pozorrubio town with a Holy Mass and procession participated in by 26 parishes.
Urdaneta Diocese Bishop Jacinto Jose, D.D., led the concelebrated mass participated in by parish priests where Indigenous People living in Pozorrubio did their traditional ‘kaniao’ to offer the Feast of Christ the King to the Creator.
After the mass, a procession was made joined in by delegations from, Alcala, Asingan, Balungao, Binalonan, Natividad, Pozorrubio, Rosales, San Manuel, San Nicolas, San Quintin, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, Sison, Tayug, Umingan, Urdaneta, Villasis.
Pozorrubio Mayor Kelvin Chan and his First Lady led the procession while former Mayors Art Chan and Emma Chan supervised the set-up at the venue attended by donors, Rep. Marlyn L. Primicias-Agabas and husband, former 6th District Rep. Tyrone D. Agabas.
Others present were Sison Mayor Danny Uy, Pozorrubio councilors, representatives from the provincial government that provided the equipment, materials and manpower in asphalting the processional routes.
Shackwave Entertainment Services CEO Engr. Gerry Gascon who provided the stage, lights, and sound, and entertainment were among the valued guests, along with Balikbayans and supporters of the event.
Bishop. Jose thanked all who made the celebration successful that had the theme “Jesus, remember me when you enter your kingdom”.
The bishop announced that the next seat of Feast of Christ the King celebration will be in San Nicolas town. (Gin Quesada)
