Kiwanians celebrate ‘Kiwanis One Day’

SOME 1,356 Kiwanians from Northern Luzon will gather in different venues for the ‘Kiwanis One Day’ (KOD) celebration on October 28.

Philippine Luzon District (PLD) Chairman for KOD activity, Past Lt. Gov. Stachys Neil Espino of Kiwanis Club of San Carlos City, said the Kiwanians  from different divisions will conduct various activities for the benefit children with special needs, children deprived of family environment, children living with debilitating disease, children with adverse experience, children living in depressed areas, recreation, nutrition, health, basic needs, play therapy, art therapy, food distribution, health promotion and prevention, among others.

The biggest group composed of 10 clubs from Pangasinan will be in Urdaneta Central School for children with special needs.

Other events will be held in Parola Santuwaryo, Inc. ( Laoag City), Home for Girls (Agoo, La Union), Spirit of Life Mission House ( Cabugo, Ilocos Sur) and Cabittaogan Elementary School Children ( Sta Catalina , Ilocos Sur).

Green Generation, a tree planting, is integrated in the KOD where 3,490 trees will be planted by the entire PLD groups.

Kiwanis One Day is celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of October 28.

PLD Governor Glenda Hufano, PLD Chairman for KOD activity Past Lt. Gov. Espino, PLD Coordinator Division 1A Lt. Gov. Elect Norma Espino, and Lt. Gov. of Division 1A Baldonero Tapia Jr from Kiwanis Club of Laoag will supervise the activities.
