
Two UL students bag titles in Mr. Northern Philippines
TWO University of Luzon college students made their school proud when they bagged titles in two Northern Luzon male-pageants held last August 26 at the CSI The City Mall in Barangay Lucao, Dagupan City.
Alex Herberich, UL’s second year student in Information Technology, won the Mr. Northern Philippines 2023 crown, participated in by contenders from Pangasinan and Ilocos Sur.
Meanwhile, Rodniel John Soriano, a 4th year Mass Communication student of UL, won the Mr. Northern Philippines Tourism title in the search for Mr. Northern Philippines 2023. He was Mr. University of Luzon 2019.
The Mister Northern Philippines, an annual male pageant, is a non-profit organization that seeks talents in the cities and municipalities of Northern Luzon.
The 15 contenders from different towns and cities of Pangasinan and Ilocos Sur who joined the preliminary screening moved forward to the finals round to vie for the following five titles: Mr. Northern Philippines, Mr. Northern Philippines World, Mr. Northern Philippines Cosmopolitan, Mr. Northern Philippines Global, Mr. Northern Philippines Tourism, and Mr. Northern Philippines Teen.
Herberich hails from Dagupan City while Soriano is from Pozorrubio town.
Interviewed later, Henrich said: “To be part of Mr. Northern Philippines is an absolute honor and this once in a lifetime opportunity is a moment I will always remember”. He will vie for the Mr. Worldwide title in January 2024.
In the case of Soriano, he mentioned that his burning passion for pageantry pushed him to join competitions again after a 3-year hiatus. He will compete in Malaysia in November 2023. (Kim Gealogo)
