Math wizards from Villasis cited
STUDENTS and teacher-coaches of Don Ramon E. Costales Memorial National High School (DRECMNHS) in Villasis and its Special Program in Mathematics were cited in a resolution by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for their outstanding performance in different competitions organized by Math Olympiads Training League, Inc. (MOTLI) during the July 31 regular session.
The SPM students participated in different competitions organized by MOTLI that included Thailand International Math Olympiad, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad, Philippine International Math Olympiad (PHIMO), and Hong Kong International Math Olympiad (HKIMO).
In sum, the math wizards pocketed 18 gold medals, 23 silver medals, and 21 bronze medals. Five outstanding teacher coach awards and two outstanding school awards were also earned by the team. DRECMNHS ranked 7th and 5th in PHIMO and HKIMO, respectively.
