Baptism highlights second day of JW convention
MARK Austria of Bayambang town eagerly anticipates June 17, 2023, the day he will step into the baptism pool of the CSI Stadia to get baptized.
“My life before was a mess and I was immersed in several vices. I felt empty until I managed to learn life-changing advices from the Bible. I am happy and excited to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.” said Mark, who studied the Bible for three years before deciding to get baptized.
Thousands will look on as Mark joins other congregants who will also be fully immersed in the baptismal pool, highlighting the second day of the three-day “Exercise Patience”! Regional Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A similar event will also be held in Binalonan town, at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center, beginning July 21.
“The Saturday program at our annual conventions is always a highlight of the three days,’” said Wilson Utayde, regional spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses in North Luzon. “
Jehovah’s Witnesses have been holding public conventions in stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and theaters around the world for more than 100 years prior to April 2020, when the organization canceled all their in-person events around the world.
The convention is open to the public and no collection is taken. For more information on the program or to find other convention locations and dates, please go to jw.org and navigate to the “About Us” tab. (Ahikam Pasion)
