MISS HUNDRED ISLANDS 2023

TWENTY-three lovely candidates from different towns in Pangasinan wowed local media personalities with their wit, intelligence, beauty and poise during the Darling of the Press search segment of the Miss Hundred Islands 2023 held on at the SM City Rosales Activity Area February 12.

Adjudged Top 3 “Media Darlings” were Monica Pearl Valle, Aisha Veronica Mercado Loyal both from Urdaneta City and Dhenice Mervie Hingpit from Lingayen. Only one will be chosen during the inauguration night.

The aspirants romped on the stage and talked about their respective advocacies as ambassadress of Hundred Islands, some of which tourism promotion, protection of nature, ecological literacy, sustainable eco-tourism, youth empowerment, culture and history preservation, renewable energy, responsible travel, family values.

These are largely in support to the programs of the city government of Alaminos headed by Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste to further boost tourism in the area.

The candidates gamely fielded questions during the Q&A segment from media personalities and even tried to outdo each other, readily volunteering responses when asked.

Local media practitioners in print, broadcast and television comprised the panels of judges.

The Search Committee looked for candidates in every town and city in Pangasinan to vie for the first ever provincewide search for Miss Hundred Islands 2023 for a chance to  bring home P150,000 a cash prize, a college scholarship grant as the Ambassadress of Alaminos.

City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Mylene Manalastas, the events chairperson, extended Mayor Celeste’s heartfelt gratitude to Rosales Mayor William Cezar and the management of SM Rosales for the successful holding of Miss Hundred Islands 2023 search for Media Darling.

The pre-pageant will be held on March 4 at the Tourism Parking Area while the grand coronation night will be on March 11 also in the same venue. (Eva Visperas)
