92-year-old Lola asks for 2nd booster shot

MRS. Pacita Jovellanos, a 92-year-old resident of Poblacion West in Calasiao town was one not to be left out and be deprived of her second booster shot during the PinasLakas Launching Activity held at the Calasiao Sports Complex on September 16, 2022.
According to her daughter, who accompanied her in her wheelchair to the vaccination center, her mother was very persistent to get her second booster to complete her vaccination.
“Sabi ng gobyerno natin kailangan ang kumpletong bakuna upang mas ligtas tayo sa COVID kaya ako nagpursiging magpunta dito. Ito lang ang tanging maitutulong ko upang hindi na kumalat pa ang COVID dito sa Calasiao,” Bae Pacita told health workers who examined her after she got her second booster shot.
Calasiao’s health office already administered booster shots to 2,400 (78%) senior citizens while 22,000 (16%) individuals received their first booster shots amid reports that the town recorded 6 active COVID cases.
DOH-Ilocos Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco thanked Bae Pacita for her courage and support and encouraged residents to emulate her example and strengthen their protection against the COVID virus.
The PinasLakas launching in Calasiao also administered vaccines to students, government and private employees and children with ages 5-years old and above. (PHO)
