KBP-Pangasinan Chapter resumes F2F accreditation exam
THE KBP-Pangasinan Chapter resumed its face-to-face conduct of the KBP Accreditation Examination on July 16.
Jay Mendoza, chairperson of KBP-Pangasinan Chapter, said that KBP is implementing the accreditation program for broadcasters to raise the standards of professionalism in the broadcast industry.
“KBP member-stations will disallow unaccredited announcers to go on air unless they pass the accreditation exam,” Mendoza said.
He said the accreditation also entitles an announcer to accident insurance and death benefits but the accreditation can be suspended or revoked if the Broadcast Code is violated.
The examination is 50 percent of the accreditation process and 50% is for the performance management evaluation by the station manager.
The validity of the KBP accreditation is two years. (PIA Pangasinan/AMMB)
