THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Region 1 planted 4,100 seedlings in 41.1 hectares of forest land in eight sites in the Ilocos Region on June 25 as part of the observation of the National Arbor Day.

The reforestation activity, which is part of the of the forestry planting activity of DENR, sought to help minimize the effect of climate change and increase the resilience of ecosystem given that trees provide living things with oxygen, food, protection and habitat.

The tree planting activity  in Pangasinan covered 21.5 hectares in three sites: Daang Kalikasan in Mangatarem town, forest land in Casantamaria-an in San Quintin town and Barangay Victoria in Sual town.
