The Bangus Festival is on!
FIRST SINCE 2020 PANDEMIC
THE success of the 2022 Dagupan Bangus Festival, a local tourist event is assured with the support of the city’s business community, according to Mayor Brian Lim.
Lim said owners of business establishments have pledged to sponsor some of the events of the festival while others, including private individuals, have been buying grills for the Kalutan ed Dalan that will be held along A.B. Fernandez Avenue on April 30.
This year’s Bangus Festival will be the first after three years because the festival in 2020 and 2021 were both cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lim said Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año approved his request to stage the Bangus Festival.
Since Dagupan City is still under Alert Level 1, minimum health protocol will be enforced on all for the duration of the festival.
Lim led the launching ceremony held on April 18 in front of the City Museum, and the dispersal of assorted fingerlings at the Dawel River the following day. (Butch Uka)
