THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan commended the designation of P/Brig. General Westrimundo Obinque and congratulated him as the new regional director of Police Regional Office 1 based at Camp Oscar Florendo in San Fernando City, La Union.

The SP resolution, co-authored by all provincial board members, made reference to Obinque being  a Pangasinense from Labrador town.

Obinque assumed the post vacated by P/Brig. General Emmanuel Peralta, who was designated chief at the Directorate for Human Resource Doctrine Development in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The provincial board expressed its confidence that Obingque will succeed in his new mission knowing his deep commitment to help prevent and suppress crimes and maintain peace and order in Region 1. (Leonardo Micua)
