Tulong Pangkabuhayan helps 25 displaced OFWs
THE 25 displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in San Nicolas benefitted from the Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa OFW Project of the provincial government.
Each displaced OFW in the town received P5,000 from the Tulong Pangkabuhayn, a brainchild project of Governor Amado Espino III under the Abig Pangasinan Program.
The financial aid provided seeks to encourage displaced OFWs to engage in livelihood opportunities while the COVID-19 pandemic rages in the world.
Sixth District Board Members Salvador Perez Jr., who represented BM Noel Bince, led the ceremonial awarding of the financial assistance for displaced OFWs.
The 25 beneficiaries of the said program were selected by their migrant desk officer based on the following criteria: cause of repatriation, number of months/years OFW worked abroad, and economic situation.
Also present during the brief program were: San Nicolas Mayor Alicia Primicias-Enriquez, Vice Mayor Alvin Bravo along with other San Nicolas Sangguniang Bayan members, and Pangasinan PESO Labor and Employment Officer III Rachel Jose.
To date, the Tulong Pangkabuhayan project has granted P5.2-million financial assistance to 1,046 displaced OFWs from 42 towns. (PIO/SMDG)
