A FORMER “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate and an actress is eyeing to succeed her husband as mayor of Bayambang in the 2022 elections.

Niña Jose-Quiambao surprised Bayambangueños when she, not her husband, Mayor Cezar Quiambao, filed a certificate of candidacy for mayor on Oct. 7.

Mayor Quiambao was expected to seek his third and final term as mayor.

Niña has been known as a supportive wife to her husband, doing charitable projects for the less privileged residents here through her Niña Cares program.

Niña is running with incumbent Vice Mayor Raul Sabangan, with seven reelectionist councilors and one former vice mayor in their slate.

She was accompanied by her husband when she filed her candidacy and addressed their townmates. She told her constituents that she has embraced the people of Bayambang when she married her husband.

She vowed to continue her husband’s Rebolusyon Laban sa Kahirapan campaign that has since gained grounds.

Meanwhile, Mayor Quiambao is actively supporting Alyansang Guico Lambino for the gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial race in Pangasinan by being physically present in most sorties of the group. (Eva Visperas)
