Bugallon residents avail various services of national government
DUTERTE LEGACY: BARANGAYANIHAN CARAVAN
OVER 100 farmers and residents of Bugallon availed of various services of the government when the Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery made a stop in the town’s Barangay Hacienda on Thursday, October 21.
In an interview, P/Maj. Arturo Melchor Jr., Pangasinan Police Provincial Office information officer, said it was the aim of the simultaneous program being held in the country to disseminate information about different programs and services of the national government.
Among the participating agencies were Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Agriculture, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Health, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine National Police, Philippine Information Agency, Philippine Statistics Authority and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Residents received food packs, water pumps, hygiene kits, school supplies, free medical consultation, free haircut from trained personnel of TESDA.
Some availed of various skills training being offered by TESDA, while others took the opportunity to register in the Philippine Identification System of the PSA, and the farmers received seedlings from the Department of Agriculture, among others.
The local government of Bugallon also distributed 10 wheelchairs to persons with disabilities.
Melchor said Barangayanihan Caravan also featured the Philippine National Police’s Internal Security Operations, in accordance with the Executive Order Number 70 or the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
Bugallon Mayor Priscilla Espino thanked the national government and other line agencies for bringing to their town the various programs of the government amid the threat of COVID-19 pandemic. (Jerick Pasiliao)
