SP applauds young filmmakers from Alaminos City High

THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan applauded filmmakers from Alaminos City National High School during its web-based regular session on July 5 for winning major awards at the “Let’s Talk About Water” Film Festival.

The commendation was contained in a resolution authored by Board Member Margielou Orange Humilde-Verzosa.

Of the 250 film entries from over 50 countries, films “Sakdo” and “Tidted” which are both produced by filmmakers from Alaminos City bagged the Grand Prize and Viewer’s Choice Award, respectively.

Production team behind the film “Sakdo,” were: Elijah Japheth Macatiag, Charlotte Jobe de Ocampo, Jezrrel Simon Necesito, Carl Gabrielle Orfinada and their coach Marvin Damasco.

On the other hand, “Tidted” film is a project by Aira Collene Ragos, Archie Glen Ocang, Daniel John Gilbert Lazarte and Precious Fem Cativo.

“The Alaminos City National High School will not only be recognized by different film festivals in the country for its remarkable film achievements but also for enhancing the artistic passion and interest of the youth in learning more creative methods and skills in filmmaking more particularly in the love and care for the nature specially water,” the resolution reads.

“To increase these young filmmakers’ self-confidence and inspire them, these young filmmakers and their coach also participated in the global water conservation campaign of the University of Saskatchewan in Canada and Global Institute for Water Security using the international platform to promote better Earth,” the resolution adds.
