THE Calasiao Police Station and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP)- Pangasinan chapter held Barangayanihan community pantry for less fortunate families in Barangay Poblacion East this town.
P/Lt. Col. Ferdinand de Asis, town police chief, said this is part of the Police Regional Office 1’s project Pulis at Komunidad as One : Barangayanihan.
The local police and the KBP member stations in Pangasinan, led by chairman Jay Mendoza of Sonshine Radio, pooled their resources, with the help of some Good Samaritans, to offer vegetables, sardines, sugar, eggs, noodles, among others to recipient families.
Mendoza said they prepared goods for 150 family-beneficiaries.
The police pre-selected 100 beneficiaries while the rest were walk-in individuals to avoid over-crowding and observe social distancing.
A medical team was also available during the goods distribution.
“This activity aims to intensify the spirit of giving and sharing during this time of pandemic,” De Asis said. (Eva Visperas)
