DAGUPAN CITY–Six local-based designers will showcase their creations in the ‘06 Abel Fashion Revolution slated tonight at Leisure Coast Resort in Dagupan.
  

Sponsored  by the Pangasinan-Washington Sister State Association (PAWASSA) headed by Mrs. Celia Lambino, wife of Vice Gov. Oscar Lambino, the fashion show to be participated in by models of the six famous local designers, all members of the Pangasinan Fashion Council, namely Rhoda Ceralde, Raffy Viernes, Vidalyn Ferrer, Luchi Vicente, Glademir Echavarre and Billy Tamagos.
  

 The models, including local politicians and professionals, will display the latest collections in men and women apparels of the designers, made from hand-woven “Inabel Iloco” mixed with different fabrics.  
  

“This will prove to all and sundry that the Pangasinenses are fashion-conscious too,” said Mrs. Lambino.
  

The project, she said, has a two-fold objective: promote and widen the use of abel Iloco, an indigenous fabric of the Ilocanos as a viable and fashionable clothing textile, and to raise funds for PAWASSA’s 28 college scholars in various campuses of the Pangasinan State University.
   

“Through this project, we have taken one big bold step to showcase an emerging industry (abel Ilocano) and share a part of ourselves by nurturing the dreams and hopes of the young people,” she said.  
  

PAWASSA was established a decade ago to promote trade, educational and exchange between Pangasinan province and the state of Washington, which are sister cities.
