Imee’s move

THE withdrawal of Senator Imee Marcos from the Alyansa ng Mamamayang Pilipino, otherwise known as the administration ticket, will greatly affect the senatorial ticket of her brother, PBBM, in the forthcoming election.

Because of Imee’s move, we learned that some of the candidates of the administration are now contemplating going solo during the remaining days of the campaign period.

However, out of the blue, we find the group of Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan allegedly wanting to join the administration ticket as guests or secret candidates of the administration, with the commitment that in case they win, they will join the group to convict Vice President Sara Duterte during her impeachment trial.

Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan have both categorically denied the rumors in separate statements on Thursday.

But if true, this becomes an opportunity for them to use the administration’s oily machinery, which might eventually seal their fate.

Only in the Philippines where you see former enemies kissing each other’s ass!

As I write this column, allow me to greet my good friend, Mayor Digong Duterte, a happy birthday. He was to celebrate his birthday on March 28.

It is my hope that he will live long and return to the Philippines to contribute his wisdom as a former president of our country.

Those who thought that in illegally surrendering Digong to the ICC will make positive impact on the administration of PBBM, they got it all wrong.

Sadly for them, it is galvanizing our people into action.

The threat of our OFWs not to remit their contributions to the Philippine economy for two weeks will greatly affect the nations economy.

It is like the Ponzi scheme, where we keep on collecting money until suddenly, all our lenders would demand instant collection of their money.

Otherwise said, its going to result to a bank-run where depositors simultaneously withdraw their money.

With the threat of OFWs, comes now the action reportedly set to be undertaken by former Senator Gringo Honasan and company, who committed to gather one million signatures nationwide seeking the release of former President Digong Duterte from ICCs custody.

With all these simultaneous actions in the national arena, Donald Trump of the United States, Xi Jin Ping of China, and Vladimir Putin of Russia might be cooking up something leading to the release of their common friend, Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

As they say, PBBM, Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla, his brother DILG Secretary Junvic Remulla and Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III might have the first laugh.

Let us see who will have the last laugh.

The campaign period for local candidates kicked off last March 28.

It is a sad reality in our political system that COMELEC can always declare which is legal or illegal campaigning.

An example of these are the ayudas such as the AICS, AKAP, TUPAD and others. Although, it should be illegal to distribute these during the campaign, yet the COMELEC — by its own pronouncements — says that it is perfectly legal to dole out these alleged benefits.

So, it would be like walk in the park for the candidates of the administration, local or national.

Going back to Ms. Imee Marcos, she just concluded her report that the action of the government in the arrest of Tatay Digong, was attended with illegal acts.

Her defiance against the acts of her brother, PBBM and his cohorts, speaks well of her.

She was able to demonstrate her brilliance during the hearing in the Senate.

Does Imee know something that we don’t?

Mabuhay ka Imee!
