An easy case to win

NOW that the preliminary hearing on former President Rodrigo Duterte’s case by the Internal Criminal Court has been concluded, we learned that one of the confirmed lawyers for Duterte, British-Israeli Nicholas Kaufman, said with confidence that the case of FPRRD is an easy one, both for the procedural and substantive portions of the case.

The Senate Committee on Justice chaired by no less than presidential sister Senator Imee Marcos has found out that we were too willing to surrender the former President.

Looking at the circumstances of the “surrender”, we can easily deduce that the former President was not accorded the due process required by our Constitution.

Former Justice of the Supreme Court Antonio Carpio says that the government may surrender a suspect directly to the ICC, which is considered a competent court.

On the other hand, the law that was quoted mandated that what was applied in his case it should not been used against former President Digong because our Constitution is always supreme over that of any law.

Our constitution states that no warrant of arrest shall be issued without any probable cause to be determined personally by a judge of competent authority.

We are confident that FPRRD will eventually see the dawning of a new day, be freed as soon as possible and returned to our country to face his detractors.

I am saddened by the news that the Mother and Child Hospital to be constructed in Poblacion Oeste on a lot vacated by the LTO is now off.

This information was relayed personally by Mayor Belen Fernandez during her State of the City Address because the P150 million fund intended for the establishment of the hospital was reverted back to the national treasury.

Bakit ganon?

The resolution authorizing Mayor Belen Fernandez to sign a MOA with the DOH was passed too late in the day because of the obstructionism of the majority members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod led by Redford Lim” or is it Redford Erfe-Mejia?

Sayang talaga!

If the UnliSerbisyo ticket will win in the May 2025 election, the group will propose to Manay Gina to work for the funding of the Mother and Child Hospital in Congr

So, it’s necessary that the fight in the Dagupan City election should be won by the ticket UnliSerbisyo” of Mayor Belen as against the ticket of Celia Lim, funnily called by the camp of Belen as UnliPerwisyo”.

But my advice to the UnliSerbisyo ticket is this: Don’t hit each other. Bawal su paltog!

The ongoing saga in Urdaneta City is becoming more suspenseful and exciting every passing day.

It is because no one among the councilors from number one to 10, and even the ex-officio councilors, would like to assume as acting mayor and acting vice mayor that was supposed to have been vacated per order from the Office of the President by Mayor Julio Parayno III and Vice Mayor Jimmy Parayn

It is because all of the city councilors up to the last man belong to the same political party headed by Mayor Parayno.

When the positions of acting mayor and acting VM were offered to members of the city council, no one accepted because they think that the vacancies do not exist in the first place.

According to my source, the uncrowned “mayor” of Urdaneta now is City administrator Randy Parayno, the older brother of Mayor Parayno.

What is your next move, Gov. Mon-Mon Guico?
