AT the onset of super Typhoon ‘Egay’ last Friday, July 28, 2023, the #EXPLORE PD4 Kabuhayan Caravan was being held at the Atrium of CSI Lucao, Dagupan City.

Despite the heavy downpour that started then, a lot of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) were present. It was a sign of their eagerness to learn and succeed.

It was another brilliant project of Cong. Toff de Venecia to help the MSMEs, knowing pretty well that they are the backbone of Philippine economy.

Cong. Toff is focusing his efforts on the MSMEs as they provide livelihood to his district constituents. Based on data, about 95 to 98% of livelihood of Filipinos come from the MSMEs sector and really help in uplifting the economy.

Recall, too, that when strict protocols were eased during the pandemic, Cong. Toff was non-stop, going around PD4 (Pangasinan District 4) talking to small businessmen, from the makers of handicraft, candles, sampaguita leis, to owners of bakeshops, coffee hubs, restos, eateries, even producers of tablea, flavored salt, bottled bangus, peanut butter, and others. The list was endless yet he was untiring in promoting them, helping them improve their face-to-face or online exposure and marketing strategies.

He wanted them to grow and become leaders of their chosen businesses someday.

Last Friday, even some mayors were there, too. Also seen was Acting Gov. Mark Lambino representing Gov. Monmon Guico, and of course, Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez who loves sharing how the family’s City Grocery store in the city has grown over the years into giant CSI malls in different areas in Pangasinan and other provinces. San Fabian Mayor Marlyn Agbayani and Manaoag Mayor Jeremy Rosario were there too.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) under the stewardship of Provincial Director Natalie Basto-Dalaten and Regional Director Grace Falgui-Baluyan and their staff were in full force to support the MSMEs. DOST in Pangasinan, Go Negosyo and some banks were there to provide financial assistance to the active MSME and starters.

Also seen were some successful MSMEs in Pangasinan to inspire the struggling small businessmen to carry on in one-on-one mentoring to properly guide them.

Ang tyaga nina Cong. Toff and company kasi di sila umalis dun.

For sure, the participating MSMEs went home with vast knowledge leading to their further success.

Indeed, it was empowering MSMEs to soar higher!

I read this somewhere about the successful #EXPLORE PD4Caravan : It wasn’t just about the captivating products; it was a journey of connection and camaraderie, where like-minded individuals came together to learn, inspire, and grow! The invaluable networking opportunities and knowledge-sharing sessions made this caravan an empowering platform for all aspiring entrepreneurs and established businesses alike.

A snappy salute to all the visionary minds and hardworking individuals who made the #EXPLOREPD4 Kabuhayan Caravan an absolute success!
