MAYOR WANTS ONE MORE CHANCE. The wife is mestiza, beautiful and sexy. The husband is a good-looking mayor. They were picture perfect for being happy family until the shocking news was whispered by a confidante. They have parted ways.

“What?,” I asked in complete disbelief.

The culprit was the man’s philandering ways. But no, it’s not the simple thing. The wife could tolerate her man having another woman but not when her own health is at stake.

What seemed to have worsened their marital problem was the mayor’s fondness for doing it “por kilo” system. Maybe he also dines smorgasbord style, iba-ibang puta-putahe.

The wife, naturally, could not take it any longer, thus the separation. But this is unknown to most of their constituents.

The mayor, of course, wants another term, thus the effort to have his wifey back.

I heard she will give him “One More Chance” just like the memorable dialogue in the famed Pinoy movie starred by Piolo and Toni: “I will do everything it takes to win you back. I will never lose hope that we will have our second chance.”

EMMA’S BASHERS STILL AT IT. The public hearing on a proposed ordinance prohibiting the establishment of fish pens in Dagupan conducted by Councilor Jeslito Seen last June 30 could have been the opportune time for Apring Dawana, Ronnie Cayabyab and Ramon Santillan to settle an old score with City Agriculture Emma Molina.

The trio earlier accused Molina as having tolerated the proliferation of illegal fish pens in the city as gleaned from their advertisement fortnight ago in The Punch.

The Molina bashers, if one can recall, even went to the extent of asking Mayor Belen to fire Emma which the mayor politely declined as she knew Molina was doing her best to help her administration even if she knows that the former did not make protest when Dagupan rivers were being filled with illegal fish pens during the time administration of former Mayor BSL as the city agriculturist.

In that public hearing, Emma’s bashers clamped down instead of opening up to settle an issue which to date remains unsettled. What a wasted opportunity. Had they did, it would have given the public and us newsmen who covered that event the idea as to who really is telling the truth.

Now we heard from Ruben Rivera in the morning of June 11 that the Emma bashers gathered in one radio station where they again brought up the same issue against their old target. What happened to being fair and being gentlemen? – Leonardo Micua
