HUBRIS OR PLAIN OVER-SENSITIVE? An elected official thinks being elected should immune him from criticisms. He thinks no one should dare attack him. All he wants is alleluia.
He thinks everyone should agree with what he does. He detests criticisms levelled against him and his administration. He likes to brag to his department heads about his achievements as if he did it alone by himself.
He talks about his predecessors as failed leaders.
When peeved by negative comments hurled against him, he has been heard to say:
“Ompan aray manangarod siyak et agla makapantepel, ompan man gawa iray makapuy ed sararatan ya ——-!”
Hmmm…we heard that line before. – Tita Roces
MORE CELLS FOR DRUG OFFENDERS. If you have been reading our crime stories, you would get the impression that at the rate the police are arresting persons suspected to be involved in illegal drugs, the provincial as well as district jails may no longer have enough space to accommodate the others who may be put in the slammer for other offenses.
We believe that there are now more detainees involved in illegal drugs inside jails than those who committed other felonies such as murder, frustrated murder, etc. Is it possible that the drug syndicates no longer bother with dirt poor pushers and no longer post bail bonds for them?
But whatever, the government must also look into whether the exisitng facilities can still accommodate more inmates in the weeks and months ahead. The inmates merely awaiting disposition of their cases continue to suffer from congestion. If the jails are already literally bursting at the seams, what can be done about the congestion so more arrested drugs suspects can be accommodated without difficulty? – Leonardo Micua
