“Thou shall not kill”

Jess Garcia

By Jesus A. Garcia Jr.

“THOU shall not kill” was written in the Good Book as said by God the Father Yahweh through the prophet Moses in the Old Testament. This was said again by His son Jesus Christ in the New Testment. This was the fifth of the ‘ten commandments’ he gave for all mankind that should be obeyed. But some ruthless, atheist or godless people don’t follow this firm directive from God but rather contradict it for their delight. Killing their infidels is their contentment, believing that they will go to heaven. We heard and saw on TV how these suicide bombers are orchestrating these heinous crimes, chiefly being done in the Middle East.

Terrorism is now spreading in other parts of the world. Remember the 911 Twin Towers incident in New York? And the latest incident happened last Tuesday in the U.S. (again) during the annual Boston Marathon and these terrorists are not even sparing a sporting event. Sad, sad, sad. Three civilians were killed and around 170 were wounded and America today is in a mourning period. This was the second world sporting event that I know (since I was born) after the 1972 Munich Olympic Games that was stained by blood. The Munich bloodbath was carried out by a group of terrorists called “Black September” and killed 11 innocent Israeli athletes that stunned the planet. Being a sports fanatic (like you dear readers), the 1972 Olympic Games will never leave my mind, as well as this recently concluded 117th edition of the 2013 Boston Marathon. I’m condemning it vociferously and the culprits, if eventually arrested, should face the long hands of the law and should be punished sternly to pay the cost of what they did. Obviously, the perpetrators don’t believe the law (Thou shall not kill) of our Almighty God. Undoubtedly they only believe the laws of their ‘king of darkness’ which is Lucifer or Satan. These cohorts of the devils always receive cheerfulness from their boss (Satan) every time they murder their infidels. And without doubt, Christians or not, these evil doers don’t really believe in the Good Book of God. “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. (Romans 12: 19). For sure these godless people will be placed in hell. Maybe they can escape here, but for sure not upstairs. Amen.

FOUR GONE, THREE LEFT

After Manny Pacquiao last June, Sonny Boy Jaro last July and Brian Viloria last April 6, a week later it was Nonito Donaire Jr. who felt the ‘domino effect’ of the Filipino debacle, losing his WBO crown to underdog WBA super bantamweight champ Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux. I believe you and I saw that fight on TV and how the flashy Rigo out-sped, out-boxed and outclassed our Filipino ring warrior in 12 rounds. Unlike the Pacquiao vs. Bradley battle, I believe the three ring judges that scored the fight all in favour for Rigo were right despite the knockdown the cocky Cuban fighter suffered. No questions from Donaire’s camp and even the spectators who saw the fight in the flesh and on television. After the fight, not contented with his showing, Donaire, who’s having a weight problem, promptly asked for rematch but in the heavier division, the featherweight. But Rigo declined saying that he’s too short (5’4”) for a featherweight (126 lbs) fighter. I believe him. And correct me if I’m wrong but as far as my knowledge is concerned in boxing, there’s no 5’4” boxer who ever won the world featherweight crown. Most of the champions in the featherweight division were 5’6” or 5’7” like Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. And so the chance for a return bout is now nil and nothing at all.

We have already four world boxing champions gone in a span of 10 months, and (so far) we still have three left as world titlists, namely Donnie Nietes, John Riel Casimero and the latest Merlito Sabillo, all in lighter weights, 106-110 pounds. But our four fighters who are now non-titlists I guess will make a successful comeback in the months to come. Let’s wait and see.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. ROMANS 1: 18-19
