Pacquiao will knock Mosley out

(Happy birthday to Mayo, who turns a new leaf tomorrow, May 2. Greetings coming from Tatay Ah, Nanay Soh, Ninong Ricky, Ninang Aya, Mayasoh & Ilak. More birthdays to come, Mayo!)

IT is one week from today when Manny Pacquiao fights again.
On May 8 (Manila Time), Pacquiao stakes his world welterweight crown (147 lb) against Shane Mosley.
The fight venue is MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I say MGM could now mean “Mosley Gets Mauled.”
And, when that happens, I hope, as I keep saying, Mosley doesn’t end up badly beaten, if not battered.
This has been a dangerous fight from the day it had been inked.
Mosley is an old man set to fight a man young enough to be his kid brother.
At 39, Mosley is to face a fighter at the peak of his career.
Just recently turned 32, Pacquiao is a machine in perpetual motion. He is like a piston of a Formula One car that is considered too slow if it runs 250kph.
I can’t even see Pacquiao losing even on points.
The fight would be so lopsided I won’t blame the fight sportscaster falling asleep during the bout.
In order for us to be kept awake, Pacquiao must do some comedy before putting Mosley to sleep.
The chances of Pacquiao absorbing an upset loss are as nil as Merci escaping impeachment conviction in the Senate.
And, if Mosley doesn’t get knocked out, it’d be like seeing Houdini drown in a bathtub.
This will be Mosley’s 54th fight.
In this his 54th fight, Mosley will suffer his first ever knockout defeat.
If it does not happen, either Pacquiao purposely did it or Mosley surrendered when he knew it was useless to continue fighting.
Mosley will not even fight because he cannot fight anymore.
He can fight if it’s not Pacquiao in front of him.
If a fellow antique is with him in the ring, Mosley might have a chance. His owned three world titles, you know.
In Pacquiao, Mosley could be fighting the wind. Pacquiao would be so fast Mosley would mostly chase him – alas, to no avail.
While it is already hard chasing the wind, you can’t even find it.
For that has been basically Pacquiao the last 10 years or so: The wind beneath our wins.
We’ve been winning tons of honors on the international stage because of Pacquiao, who has already hauled off a record eight world titles in eight different weight divisions on the way to becoming the first billionaire athlete of the land.
Who is Mosley to tear down such reputation of global proportions?
So, if we don’t see Pacquiao beating Mosley on Sunday – by knockout, I must insist – we might have watched another fight.
