A 44-year-old fire extinguisher dealer from Dagupan City, identified as a High Value Individual (HVI), was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Rosales Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Region 1 (PDEA-RO1) in Barangay Carmen West, Rosales, Pangasinan, at noon on January 11, 2026.
Authorities confiscated approximately 146.18 grams of suspected shabu, contained in 29 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱994,024.00.
Also recovered from the suspect were a black belt bag, a cellphone, a lighter, a pack of transparent plastic sachets, two ₱100 bills used as dusted buy-bust money, assorted boodle money consisting of one ₱500 bill and four ₱4,000 bundles, and ₱4,500 in cash.
Cases for violation of Article II, Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect. The arrested individual and all seized evidence were brought to the Rosales Police Station for proper disposition.
Police Regional Office 1 Director P/Brig. General Dindo Reyes emphasized the dangers posed by illegal drugs, describing them as a “silent but destructive enemy of society” that ruins lives, destroys families, and fuels crime and violence.
“With every successful operation, more lives are saved, and more communities are protected,” Reyes said. (Eva Visperas)
