Calasiao police destroy banned mufflers, fireworks
THE Calasiao Police Station, led by Police Lt. Col. Ferdinand S. Lopez, on Monday, December 29, conducted the ceremonial destruction of confiscated modified mufflers, boga (improvised firecrackers), and other illegal fireworks as part of its continuing drive to maintain peace, order, and public safety in the town.
The activity underscored the strict enforcement of laws against prohibited items that cause disturbance and pose danger to the community, and highlighted the local government’s commitment to protecting public welfare.
Present were Acting Mayor Kyle Arthur Gaspar and Peace and Order Committee chair Elias Villanueva, with support from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Freddie Villacorta, the Public Safety and Order Office, and members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association.
Police said similar operations will continue in line with existing laws. (Ahikam Pasion)
San Fabian PNP cracks down on noisy mufflers
THE San Fabian Police Station has warned motorcycle riders and motorists that it will strictly enforce Municipal Ordinance No. 17-S-2018 against vehicles fitted with noisy or modified mufflers that exceed the allowable sound limit.
Under the ordinance, vehicles with defective or altered mufflers producing more than 70 decibels are subject to fines and confiscation of the modified parts. The first offense carries a ₱1,000 fine, ₱2,000 for the second offense, and ₱2,500 for subsequent violations.
Exemptions apply only to vehicles used in sports competitions, motor shows, or similar events, and only during such activities.
Police will carry out enforcement, auxiliary traffic personnel, and barangay officials to keep San Fabian’s streets orderly and noise-free. (Ahikam Pasion)
