Rider dead in motorcycle crash
A motorcycle rider from Baguio City died when his vehicle collided with an oncoming truck early Wednesday morning, October 29, along the National Road in Barangay Cablong, Pozorrubio. The incident occurred at around 7:00 a.m. when the rider attempted to overtake another vehicle, but accidentally swerved into the opposite lane, hitting a truck driven by a 30-year-old man from Barangay Banaoang, Bantay, Ilocos Sur. The impact caused the motorcycle to crash head-on, resulting in severe injuries to the rider. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

House fire in Dagupan displaces residents
‘A residential house in Dagupan City was destroyed by fire on Sunday, October 27, prompting a swift response from the Dagupan Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), BFP-Binmaley, and the Panda Fire Volunteer Brigade. The blaze broke out at the property owned by Noy Velasco and was declared under control at 4:01 p.m., with no reported injuries or casualties. Initial investigation suggests that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit from a damaged wire connected to an electric fan.

Farmer nabbed for threatening family with grenade
A 50-year-old farmer was arrested by police in Natividad after threatening to kill a family while brandishing a hand grenade. The incident occurred at the home of a 39-year-old carpenter in the Magdaong compound and was reported by the barangay captain, who immediately alerted the Natividad police. Responding officers found the suspect at the scene, still holding the grenade and threatening the family. Authorities swiftly subdued and arrested the suspect, confiscating an MK2 hand fragmentation grenade from his possession.

Man fatally stabbed during birthday celebration
A 37-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a heated altercation at a birthday gathering in Tayug town. The incident occurred during a drinking session attended by the victim, the 31-year-old suspect, and their families as they celebrated the birthday of a friend who works as a construction worker. According to police reports, tensions flared after the group became intoxicated, leading to a violent argument between the two men.
The confrontation turned deadly when the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed the victim in different parts of his body. The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians. Police arrested the suspect.

Cadaver of unidentified man found floating in Lingayen river
The lifeless body of an unidentified man was discovered floating in a river in Barangay Balangobong, Lingayen. The body was found by fisherman Jeffrey Soriano Tandoc while checking his nets and was described as about 5’3” tall, of medium built, and brown-skinned. The victim was wearing a black shirt with the word “SOLITUDE” printed on it and black pants. According to authorities, there were no visible signs of injury on the body.
Tandoc immediately reported the incident to barangay officials, who then alerted the Lingayen police, who retrieved and brought the body to a hospital, where the man was declared dead on arrival. Police have launched an investigation to determine the victim’s identity and the cause of death.

Son seriously injured in father’s brutal attack
A 25-year-old man was seriously injured after being stabbed multiple times by his own father during a violent confrontation in San Manuel. Police said the altercation began when the victim questioned his father about his relationship with his live-in partner, sparking a heated argument that quickly turned physical. According to investigators, the enraged father stormed into their house, grabbed a bolo, and attacked his son, hitting him in the left arm and the right side of his neck. Bystanders immediately alerted authorities, leading to the suspect’s arrest at the scene. The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Tricycle thief nabbed in Calasiao after Facebook tip-off
A man was arrested in Calasiao for stealing a tricycle after being tracked down through a Facebook post. The victim, a 35-year-old woman, reported to the Calasiao police that her tricycle, which she had parked in front of the Rural Health Unit (RHU), had been stolen. Police launched a hot pursuit operation with the help of the complainant. During the search, barangay officials in Bayambang alerted authorities after detaining a man seen driving a tricycle that matched the one posted on Facebook as stolen. The police quickly responded, and upon verification, the victim confirmed the tricycle was hers. The suspect was immediately arrested and now faces charges of theft.
