A fire broke out at Pavilion II of the St. Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park in Bayambang around 12:21 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bayambang.

Fire Inspector Joy Carol Palchan, BFP-Bayambang chief, said the blaze spread quickly, prompting the local fire unit to request assistance from nearby municipalities. The BFP Provincial Office also deployed additional personnel to help contain the fire.

The incident was raised to a second alarm but was declared under control by 2:42 p.m. The BFP has yet to determine the cause and total extent of the damage.

The St. Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park, a well-known religious and tourist destination, remains closed pending further assessment of the pavilion’s condition. (Ahikam Pasion)
