Teenager stabs 55-year-old man

A 17-year-old student has been arrested after stabbing a 55-year-old man in Barangay Poblacion Norte, Sta. Barbara.

According to police reports, the incident occurred when the suspect, a Grade 11 student, confronted the victim, Jerico Tambaong Cerezo, during some altercation. The victim was reportedly investigating a fight happening in the area when he encountered the suspect armed with a bolo. Another confrontation later on ended up with the suspect stabbing the victim, leaving hand injury in self-defense.

Both the victim and the suspect were taken to separate hospitals for treatment. The suspect, identified as a minor, is currently in police custody, and authorities are conducting further investigation into the incident.

Partners nabbed for drug peddling in Dagupan City

 A live-in couple was arrested in a police anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation conducted in Sangunian Village, Barangay Caranglaan, Dagupan City, on October 9.

The suspects, identified as Jayson Ferrer Baylon, also known as “Jayson,” and Cristina Villanueva Callanta, known as “Tina,” were caught in the act of selling illegal drugs. Both individuals are listed as street-level drug peddlers in the local police database.

The operation led to the seizure of approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu, which was packed in a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet. The drugs have an estimated street value of P34,000.

High-value drug target nabbed in Umingan 

 AUTHORITIES arrested a high-value individual in a buy-bust operation October 9 in Barangay Sta. Maria, Umingan.

The suspect, a 55-year-old farmer and resident of Umingan, was caught with around 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately P408,000.

The successful bust follows a series of major drug-related arrests in the province, including the recent seizure of over P1 million worth of drugs from a construction worker in Lingayen.

 Young man set to marry in December dies in Dagupan road mishap

A man who was supposed to tie the knot this coming December died in a vehicular accident along the New De Venecia Highway in Barangay Lucao.

The victim, identified as Jay Mhun Terrado Rosario, a resident of Mabini Street, Poblacion, Binmaley, was reportedly driving his motorcycle when he entered the northbound lane of Lucao Road and collided with an aluminum van driven by Oliver Abalos Aquino, 50, of Malindong, Binmaley.

The impact left Rosario with severe injuries on his body. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The van driver was unharmed.

Grain agent dies after being run over by truck in Sta. Maria 

A 50-year-old rice and corn agent died after being run over by a truck during a motorcycle accident along the national road in Barangay San Alejandro East, Sta. Maria.

According to police investigation, the victim was driving a motorcycle in the same direction as a forward truck operated by a 32-year-old local resident. The incident occurred when the motorcycle, carrying the victim and a 22-year-old female saleslady, attempted to overtake the truck on the right side. Neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

During the maneuver, the motorcycle reportedly lost control and sideswiped a parked motorcycle. The impact caused the victim’s motorcycle to veer into the truck’s lane, where the victim was run over. He sustained fatal head injuries and died instantly. The female passenger suffered minor injuries and was immediately brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Man injured in motorcycle collision with drunk rider

A 23-year-old man sustained injuries after a head-on collision with another motorcycle rider, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, in Barangay Cabalaoangan, San Quintin.

According to initial reports, the two riders were traveling in opposite directions along the barangay road when the 26-year-old suspect reportedly swerved into the lane of the victim, causing the crash.

The victim suffered injuries from the impact, while the other rider — believed to be intoxicated — was unharmed. Authorities are investigating the incident and have not yet confirmed if charges will be filed pending the results of further inquiries.

Farmer killed while crossing road

A 62-year-old farmer was killed after being struck by a car while crossing the provincial road in Barangay Masiel-siel, Umingan.

According to police, the victim was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by a car driven by a 40-year-old tricycle driver from the neighboring town of Tayug.

The impact threw the elderly man several meters from the point of collision. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later declared dead on arrival.

In a separate incident, another senior citizen was injured after being hit by a motorcycle in a nearby area. Initial reports indicate that the elderly victim was struck while walking, but details about the crash and the condition of the driver are still under investigation.
