PDEA acknowledges LGUs in anti-drug campaign
THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 1 acknowledged the crucial role of Local government units (LGUs) in the success of anti-illegal drug enforcement initiatives and rallied them to continue providing support to maintain drug-free communities.
PDEA Acting Assistant Regional Director Joshua Arquero noted that local governments have been providing manpower support in anti-drug operations as well as logistical and financial contributions.
“The collaboration between LGUs and PDEA has also been driven by the desire of local chief executives to have their areas cleared of drug-related issues,” he said.
Arquero made the commendation after PDEA and the police recently nabbed drug suspects classified as High Value Individuals (HVIs) in several operations.
Most notable is the P1.25 million shabu seized by the Dagupan police in an operation the previous week. (Ahikam Pasion)
