Newborn found abandoned in Asingan
A newborn baby boy, wrapped only in tissue and still attached to his umbilical cord, was discovered by a farmer in Barangay Bantog, Asingan, on September 15.
The baby was found in Sitio Cabaruan and was immediately brought to a local hospital for medical attention. Authorities have since placed the infant under the care of the National Authority for Child Care – Regional Alternative Child Care Office 1.
The baby has been temporarily named “Emmanuel Johan Salvador.”
As of this writing, no parents or relatives have come forward to claim the child.
Local authorities are urging anyone with information about the child’s family or background to contact the authorities to ensure the child’s proper protection and legal guardianship. (Ahikam Pasion)
