High-value drug suspect, cohort nabbed in Malasiqui buy-bust
A joint police buy-bust operation in Malasiqui town led to the arrest of a high-value drug suspect and his alleged cohort, yielding an estimated ₱680,000 worth of suspected shabu on August 26, 2025.
The primary target, a 22-year-old service crew member tagged by authorities as a High-Value Individual (HVI), was arrested with his 48-year-old companion, a tricycle driver.
The sting was carried out by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office with support from the Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 1, and the Malasiqui Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1.
Both suspects are now in police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“This accomplishment highlights the power of collaboration and the vigilance of our personnel,” Police Regional Office 1 Director PBGen Dindo Reyes said. (Eva Visperas)
