Businessman dies after vehicle falls off PNR Bridge
A 56-year-old businessman from Mangaldan was declared dead on arrival at the hospital on September 16 after the pickup truck he was driving fell off the PNR Bridge in Barangay Salaan in the same town.
A report from the municipality’s Public Information Office identified the victim as Luis Gabriel, Jr., whose body was recovered through a search-and-retrieval operation led by the Mangaldan Quick Response Team with the assistance of the Mangaldan police.
According to the police incident report, authorities received a call at around 1:35 p.m. and immediately responded to the scene.
Witnesses said that around noon, during a heavy downpour, they saw Gabriel’s vehicle lose control. The pickup nearly hit a pedicab before plunging off the bridge and overturning.
Authorities are still confirming the possible cause of the victim losing control of the steering wheel. (Eva Visperas)
