Rider dies after being run over by wing van truck

A 28-year-old rider was killed after he was run over by a wing van truck along the National Road in Rosales town.

According to police investigations, the truck driven by a 50-year-old man from Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija was tailing closely and eventually hit the rear of the motorcycle, causing the victim to fall onto the road. The truck then ran over the victim, leading to his death.

Grandson, grandma in murder-suicide case

AN 80-year-old woman in Malasiqui town died after being stabbed by her grandson, who later committed suicide after fleeing the crime scene.

The incident occurred in Villa Felipa Subdivision, where the victim, Soledad  Mendoza, was found stabbed in the chest by her grandson, 39-year-old Teodoro Lamsen Mendoza, believed to have been suffering from mental health issues. The suspect was later found dead in a nearby rice field about one kilometer from the house with a neck wound that is suspected to be self-inflicted.

Express courier office in Calasiao robbed

LOCAL police are currently investigating a robbery that took place at an express courier office in Calasiao town.

According to the investigation, at around 8 a.m., Pamela Cayabyab, 26, noticed that the parcels were disturbed and the steel bars of the window appeared to have been tampered with, suggesting the suspect’s entry point. Furthermore, the CCTV power cord had been cut, and the vault was forcibly opened and emptied of cash.Police authorities are coordinating with nearby establishments to identify and apprehend the thief.

House razed in Dagupan City fire

A house in Barangay Malued, Dagupan City was partially damaged by fire, but no one was reported injured in the incident.

The fire lasted for about an hour and was jointly extinguished by the Dagupan City Bureau of Fire Protection and PANDA Fire Volunteers. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage.

Canteen owner nabbed for selling dog meat

A canteen owner in San Jacinto was arrested for allegedly selling dog meat, following a successful entrapment operation conducted by local authorities.

The police, in coordination with the regional director of the UK-based non-profit organization Animal Welfare Investigation Project, implemented the sting operation in Barangay Lobong,  that led to the arrest of 37-year-old Mark Rodas Alcantara, who is now facing charges under the Animal Welfare Act for the illegal sale of dog meat.

Man killed in Malasiqui stabbing incident

AN 18-year-old man was pronounced dead after he was stabbed by a tricycle driver in the town of Malasiqui following an argument over a missing P500 that was allegedly used to buy illegal drugs. The incident occurred in Barangay Warey and involved a 41-year-old tricycle driver as the suspect.

According to police investigations, the victim and his mother were having a conversation about a missing P500 when the suspect arrived and a heated discussion ensued.

Pregnant woman dies in counterflow crash

A 20-year-old pregnant woman was killed and her 24-year-old live-in partner was seriously injured following a tragic motorcycle accident in Urdaneta City.

According to reports, a pick-up truck driven by a 50-year-old manager of a local resto-bar suddenly entered the wrong lane, counterflowing into the path of the motorcycle that the couple was on. The suspect, a resident of Barangay Nancamaliran West, Urdaneta City, is facing charges related to the fatal accident.
