3 nabbed in forgery, land scam

THREE individuals,  Cherry Centino Doot, 40; Jeffrey M. Doliente, 32, a businessman; and Edwin S. Jose, 45,  all residents of Dagupan City, were arrested in an entrapment operation conducted by local police in Basista following allegations of fraud and document forgery related to a land sale scam.

According to the police, the suspects were reported by a complainant for allegedly deceiving them in a fake land transaction, using falsified documents and identification. The investigation is ongoing as police determine the full extent of the suspects’ operations and whether other victims are involved.

Minor hit by bus, dies

AN 11-year-old boy died after a bus struck him while chasing his dog across the road in Barangay Tiep, Bani.

According to authorities, the victim suddenly crossed the road while chasing his pet dog at around 8 p.m. when a 51-year-old bus driver from Las Piñas City was passing through the area and was unable to stop in time. Police reports indicate that the driver tested negative for alcohol at the time of the incident.

Rider crashes into concrete barrier, dies

A 22-year-old man, Rodolfo Ballesteros Cruz, a brick helper and resident of the area, driving a motorcycle died after he crashed into a concrete barrier in Sta. Barbara.

The victim was driving through Barangay Poblacion Norte with a minor as his backrider when the accident happened when he overshot a curve on the uphill approach to Maramba Bridge and slammed into a concrete fence. Cruz suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians. The condition of the minor passenger was not disclosed.

Man electrocuted while fishing, dies

A 37-year-old man, Jose M. Agbisit, went to a creek in Barangay Anonas to catch fish using an electric fishing inverter which investigators believe ld to his electrocution.

Family members immediately rushed Agbisit to a nearby hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.

Retired teacher killed in road mishap

An 80-year-old retired teacher, Maria Teresa M. Ferrer,  died after she was struck by a mini dump truck driven by Benjamin S. Panes, a 32-year-old construction worker from Barangay San Vicente, Alaminos City while crossing the road in Alaminos City

The driver attempted but failed to avoid the elderly woman, who was then rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.

Rider killed in motorcycle crash

A 22-year-old motorcycle rider, identified as Ryan Paul A. Rosales died after he crashed into a steel bridge barrier in Barangay Bogtong Niyog, Mangatarem.

Initial police reports show, Rosales who was not wearing any safety gear, lost control of the motorcycle, causing him to slam into the metal railing of the bridge and sustained multiple injuries to various parts of his body.
