Man shot dead in Umingan
A tricycle driver was killed after he was shot by two riding-in-tandem unidentified assailants in the town of Umingan.
According to police investigations, the victim, Romeo Fajardo Corpuz, 67, was driving his tricycle in Barangay Lubong with passenger Leonora Oracion Terte, 25, a resident of the area, when they were suddenly fired upon by two unidentified men who quickly fled the scene after the shooting. The victim’s family suspects that the incident was motivated by a land dispute or a personal grudge. Authorities continue to investigate the case to determine the exact motive and identify the perpetrators.

House, 2 establishments razed in Rosales
A house and two commercial establishments in Rosales were destroyed in a fire that broke out after a power outage in Barangay Don Antonio Village.
The homeowners went outside during the blackout, then went back in once power was restored and found smoke emanating from the second floor of the house.
Despite efforts to turn off the circuit breaker, they were unable to do so in time, and the fire started to spread to two neighboring establishments, causing damage estimated at around P2 million.

Bros’ drinking session turns bloody
A dispute among siblings during a drinking session in Umingan ended in a stabbing incident, authorities reported. The victim was identified as Romy Estepa Pucay, 22, while the suspect is his older brother, Sotto Estepa Pucay.
Initial police investigations showed, the brothers were having a drink inside the victim’s hut when an argument erupted. The altercation escalated, leading the victim to hit the suspect in the head. In retaliation, the suspect grabbed a bolo and attacked his brother, resulting in multiple stab wounds. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, while the suspect was arrested by responding police officers.

2 injured in drinking session turned stabbing
A farmer and a female relative were rushed to the hospital after a stabbing incident in Barangay San Vicente, Bani.
Initial police investigation showed the victims — Rogelio Camba and his sister Rolly Paz Camba — were having a drinking session with the suspect, Raquel Camba Dollaga, 24, when a heated argument broke out between the siblings.
Raquel left the scene but later returned, grabbed a bottle of alcohol and hurled it at the victims, but missed. In response, Rogelio threw a chair at Raquel. When he saw that she was holding a knife, he attempted to defend himself by grabbing a bolo, but Raquel managed to stab him in the stomach. Both the farmer and the female suspect sustained injuries and were immediately brought to the hospital, where they are currently confined.

Security guard wanted for assault, threats
AUTHORITIES are on the hunt for a 43-year-old security guard accused of assault and threatening a resident with a firearm in the town of San Nicolas.
According to reports, the suspect, a resident of Sitio Nagtupakan, Barangay Santa Maria West, was involved in a drinking session with a driver when a misunderstanding erupted, and the suspect struck the victim on the left cheek. A 25-year-old farmer who was trying to intervene stepped in to stop the fight. However, the suspect fled the scene on his motorcycle, reportedly brandishing a firearm and threatening the farmer before escaping. Police have yet to recover the weapon used in the incident.
